What happens if the hosting service is not paid on time?
At the earliest, before the paid hosting services expire, the billing system automatically sends a reminder to the contact e-mail of the clients about the necessity of payment and renewal of services
In advance, before the paid term of validity of hosting services expires, billing automatically sends a reminder to the contact e-mail of clients about the need to pay and renew services.
When the current hosting service is not renewed on time, it is automatically stopped and the service is blocked. But we understand the life situations are different, so we keep your sites for a certain period, VPS, domains, files in the storage, and all settings remain unchanged.
You can replenish your balance and continue the service until the service is finally deleted. Retention periods for unpaid hosting services vary.
Retention periods for unpaid hosting services
1. PHP and ASP.NET virtual hosting: disconnected services are stored on the hosting for 12 months. During this period, the service can be paid for the period you wish and it will be automatically renewed. If not done, the shared hosting is deleted irrevocably.
2. Virtual Servers: unpaid services are stored on the hosting for 2 weeks. You can pay for and extend this service only within 14 calendar days. If this does not happen, the disconnected service is completely deleted.
3. LiteOffice Mail corporate mail for business: unpaid service is stored on the hosting for 3 months. However, you will only receive incoming correspondence, but you won't be able to send anything. If you do not renew the “Mail for Business” service within 3 months, it will be automatically deleted by the system without the possibility to restore it.
4. FTP/SMB File Storage: Overdue service is kept for 1 month. If not paid, the service and all data are irrevocably deleted.
Important! Upon expiration of the above-mentioned retention periods of the expired service, all data related to it and settings are deleted irrevocably, without the possibility of recovery.
If a domain payment is overdue
1. If you fail to renew your domain name on time, the domain will go into Auto-Renew Grace Period (AGRP) status immediately after expiration. All related hosting services associated with this domain will become unavailable (website, email). During the grace renewal period, the domain is no longer active, but the domain owner still has the option to renew the registration at the regular price and reactivate the domain. As a rule, this period lasts 22-25 calendar days, it may vary in different domain zones.
2. If you have not renewed your domain during this period, it becomes Redemption Period. The period lasts up to 25 calendar days, domain renewal is still possible, but it costs 5-15 times more than the normal price.
- ** Please note! In some domain zones there is no AGRP grace period at all, and the domain immediately goes into Redemption Period after the paid term is over.
3. If the domain is not renewed even at the Redemption Period stage, it goes to the Pending Delete status, i.e. awaiting deletion. Here any actions with the domain are no longer possible. Upon expiration of this period (from 5 to 15 days), the domain name is deleted from the Registry and becomes available for new registration for anyone.
Why is it important to pay for services on time?
On-time payment is not only the safety of your data, but also the continuous operation of your business. A blocked site, disabled mail or lost domain can cause financial losses and reputational risks. Therefore, it's better to make a payment in advance than to restore everything from scratch later. We have written about how to do it here: How to prolong the service.
